Wyoming Prairie Dog Hunting | Guides & Outfitters

Below is a list of every Wyoming guide, lodge, and outfitter offering prairie dog hunts. I made this directory (with actual links) to give you the largest source of places to shoot prairie dogs in WY. Every outfitter is different. Some spend a lot of money getting a fancy website built, some choose to build their sites themselves. It is important to remember that the look of a website has nothing to do with the quality of the hunt. I encourage you to take a look at each outfitter, pick a few that interest you, and then give them a quick call or E-mail. I hope this resource helps you on your search for a quality Wyoming prairie dog hunt.

Rockin 7 Ranch / Shawnee, WY / (307) 334-2309

Our prairie dog hunting provides continuous shooting on private land where there will be thousands of prairie dogs that rarely see a hunter. The ranches where we hunt these prairie dogs are remote. So even though the drive might be a little farther, it is well worth the action you will experience. We approach the edge of a prairie dog town and set up and shoot for an hour or two or until the prairie dogs start getting scarce, then we pull up and drive over the hill and continue prairie dog hunting. In some places, we can shoot all day from the same hill top without moving. Perfect for practicing your long range shooting, prairie dog hunting allows you to shoot at different distances as often as you like. The farther out you shoot, the less likely the dogs are to know what's going on, so they will stand there and let you shoot at them until you hit them or get too close for comfort! The close shots might be the most fun, but after you get tired of the carnage, its also fun to try shots over 1,000 yards.

We offer prairie dog shoots during the months of June, and July each summer with the option of a camp-based hunt or staying in a motel. SNS employs a guide ratio of 2-3 shooters per guide and a minimum party of two or more shooters is required. We take a break at lunch time then back at it until it's time to quit for the day and head in. Our guide-hunter ratio is 2-3 shooters per guide and a minimum party of two or more shooters is required. Bring your favorite varmint rifle and at least 500 rounds of ammo. Come on out and try it once and we know you will be hooked.
