Kansas Prairie Dog Hunting | Guides & Outfitters

Below is a list of every Kansas guide, lodge, and outfitter offering prairie dog hunts. I made this directory (with actual links) to give you the largest source of places to shoot prairie dogs in KS. Every outfitter is different. Some spend a lot of money getting a fancy website built, some choose to build their sites themselves. It is important to remember that the look of a website has nothing to do with the quality of the hunt. I encourage you to take a look at each outfitter, pick a few that interest you, and then give them a quick call or E-mail. I hope this resource helps you on your search for a quality Kansas prairie dog hunt.

Chisholm Trail Whitetails / Caldwell, KS / (620) 845-2219

What better way to sharpen those shooting skills for deer season than to come to Chisholm Trail Whitetails and try your luck at Prairie Dogs. We have access to several dog towns to test your shooting abilities. This is also a great way to introduce a new hunter to the shooting sports, lots of action in a relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for the wife, girl friend, or the kids. Bring lots of ammo and your favorite rifle and have a great time. Best time to come is in May or June when the weather is cooler and the dogs are more active. Video of the hunt is also available.

Rebel Ridge Outfitters / Syracuse, KS / (620) 384-7700

Prairie dogs can be hunted year round with good success. As long as the sun is shining with relatively warm temperatures (anything above 60 degrees) there will be plenty of prairie dogs out feeding. We get over 300 days of sun every year making almost every day a good day to shoot dogs. We consider peak season to be April-June and Sept-Oct simply because this is when most people book.  However, we have many warm sunny days well before and after those dates that produce excellent shooting, so come whenever it suites your schedule. Hunters in September and October enjoy some of the best weather of the year and dove season is also on in September. We can hunt doves in the morning and evening with prairie dog shooting during the day. It makes for a good deal of trigger time packed into one day.
